the heat: movie review
Yesterday my family and I went to see the long anticipated action comedy, "The Heat", and I thought I would review it for you guys! I am going to be as SPOILER FREE as possible, and if I give any hints away to the ending, I promise it won't effect your viewing pleasure.
First off, I'd like to start by saying, Sandra Bullock is easily one of my favorite actresses. She can be serious, funny, sexy, or anything she'd like to be and still maintain integrity when she walks off a movie set. Now, lets get into the dirt.
If you've never heard of "The Heat", it's about an conservative FBI agent and a rowdy Boston cop who have to work together to solve a really nasty crime. Personally, I thought the movie was fantastic. Bullock and McCarthy played off of each other perfectly, making for a kind of "Odd Couple" dynamic which everyone loves. Given that it is an action movie, there were some gruesome and seemingly unnecessary scenes, but they don't last long and you can close your eyes when it starts getting bloody. The plot was well developed and not confusing, and the director did a fantastic job with character development.
Out of the 5 people who went with me to watch it, 4 out of 5 loved it. Chloe thought the plot was stupid and thought it wasn't that funny, but obviously movies like these aren't for everyone. Sienna (my other sister) loved the jokes, but thought that some parts were a little too gross and didn't appreciate all of the deaths. My mom, dad, and I all really loved it, and kept laughing at the jokes the whole ride home. On Rotten Tomatoes, 78% of the audience liked it, and 63% of the critics would recommend it to moviegoers.
Yay for movie reviews! I'm trying a bunch of new stuff for this blog (including a bunch of DIY tutorials and reviews) and I'm super excited for you guys to see it. Is there anything special you guys would like to see? I'm super pumped to get back to blogging regularly *winky face*.
Stay groovy,
xo Camille
