avocado hair treatment ♡♡♡

I can already guess what is going through your mind: Avocado in my hair? I know it sounds weird, I was a little freaked out at first too, but let me explain.

For a while now I've been looking for DIY treatments to moisturize and de-frizz my hair, because hair products can be expensive, and with the heat I don't want my hair to feel gross. Everyone has heard of putting avocado on your face as a kind of guacamole face mask, but turns out that moisturizing your face with this yummy green veggie can also go for your hair. And I'm going to teach you how to do it!

I totally forgot to take pictures when I did this, so I hope that my explanation is enough to get you started. Good thing it's super easy to do! All you need to do is mash up half of an avocado with a fork or whatever you want to use. When its all mashed, add a splash of olive oil for extra moisturizing powers and mix it in. Then, rub the avocado mixture into clean, dampish hair, wait 20-30 minutes, then shampoo and condition as normal! The smell of avocado gets kind of nauseating after a while, but beauty is pain, right?

When I did this, I made my hair feel really nice. It curled and looked like it does on a normal basis, but it felt 10x softer and it stayed soft and frizz-free for 2 days after I did the treatment. It didn't look greasy or anything, but I did skip my normal leave-in conditioner that I usually use after I shower.

If you're hair is thicker/frizzier, you can substitute the olive oil for mayonnaise, or maybe just look up so avocado and mayo conditioners. If your hair is thinner/less-frizzy than mine, instead of the avocado+oil, just whisk up an egg and let that sit in your hair for 20-30 minutes. The egg yolk is super moisturizing, and the egg white has these really cool thingies in them that can fight off the icky stuff that makes your hair dry out. (The egg treatment pretty much works for all hair types, but the mayo and/or avocado might be a little too intense for thin hair.)

Wow, that was a good dose of the weird things that Camille does for nice hair. I really hope you guys enjoyed this post, and if you have any quirky things that you do to de-frizzify your hair, please tell me in the comments!

Stay groovy,
xo Camille
